Why you should consider advertising with BCPA

Once published, all BC Psychologist issues are available in their entirety in PDF format on our website, accessible for download by our members and affiliates

We offer competitive rates

Our printed and online advertising reaches the entirety of our membership — about 65% of all Registered Psychologists in BC are members of BCPA, and our July edition goes out to all Registered Psychologists in BC

Our members are high-income earners, decision-makers, owners of clinics, researchers and private practicioners.

Advertising guidelines

Website postings and e-mail announcements have a 200-word limit. Links to a maximum of 2 PDF files can be included.

Website advertisements will remain posted for one month from the posting date.

Web and e-mail advertisements are posted or e-mailed within 5 business days of the ad submission, or otherwise as scheduled in a contract with BCPA

Newsletter ad submissions include a complimentary one-month website listing; content for the complimentary posting must be provided at the time of submission.

Advertising deadlines

Advertisement submission deadlines for BC Psychologist: November 15th, March 1st, June 1st, September 1st.

BC Psychologist publication dates: January 15th , April 15th, July 15th, October 15th. These dates are subject to change. There may also be publication delays due to shipping and mailing times.

If your ad features a fixed date, please inform us of the exact date and send in the ad well in advance, so that we can make sure your ad will be published in an edition of the BC Psychologist which will be received by our members before the event.

We post web & e-mail ads on an ongoing basis; if you are interested in web or e-mail advertising, please contact us today at admin.bcpa@telus.net, and we will get back to you within two to three business days.

Inserts

You can include an unstapled insert/flyer to go inside BC Psychologist

Inserts must be one page only and not thicker than 70lb bond paper

Double-sided or colour printing are at the discretion of the advertiser

The insertion costs and dimensions are in the table below; the costs do not include printing of the flyer

The advertiser must supply 700 copies of the insert to an address specified by BC Psychologist (1,100 copies for the July edition), at a deadline usually between the submission deadline listed above and the publication date.

Design guidelines

Rates are based on submissions of an electronic file in .PDF or .EPS format (embed all fonts) at a resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi) minimum. No word processing files or page layout native files accepted

An ad design service is available for an additional 20% of the ad cost for up to four hours of work. If the design work exceeds four hours, the additional work will be billed to the advertiser at $25/hour. Please contact us at admin.bcpa@telus.net to inquire about this service

Outside Back Cover, Inside Back Cover and Inside Front Cover ads must be in colour (CMYK process). Please specify whether you would like 1/2 page ads to be published in colour or not. No full-colour options currently available for inside-page ads.

Additional information

The position of the ad within the journal is at the discretion of the publisher. Please let us know if you want to place an on any of the cover pages in particular

BC Psychologist reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend any advertisement (see advertising policy for more details)

Payment can be made by cheque or credit card to the BC Psychological Association. Payments must be made in Canadian Dollars. Add 5% GST to all rates

If advertisements cannot meet our print standards, the BCPA reserves the right to exclude those advertisements from our publication. Advertisements that do not meet our print standards may be re-designed at an additional cost.

Repeat ads must be booked all at once to receive the discounted rate for each ad (for example, if 3 ads are booked at once, each ad will receive the 3x rate); if booked after the first ad has run, the first ad will still be at the 1x rate, and subsequent ads at the relevant repeat rates. The publication of any notice of events, or advertisement, is neither an endorsement of the advertiser, nor of the products or services advertised. The BCPA is not responsible for any claim(s) made in an advertisement. Advertisers may not, without prior consent, incorporate in a subsequent advertisement, the fact that a product or service had been advertised in a BCPA publication or through the BCPA electronic media. The acceptability of an advertisement for publication is based upon legal, social, professional, and ethical considerations. BCPA reserves the right to unilaterally reject, omit or cancel advertising.
