Work with Families

My work with families rests in my desire to help parents and children come into a deeper, more satisfying relationship with themselves and each other. By looking at what is working well for the family and what isn't, I can help:

  • Parents acknowledge and manage their own fears and anxieties so they are more able to "tune into" their child's needs
  • Strengthen the attachment and deepen the bond between the parents and their child
  • Parents support their child's ability to deal with stress and regulate their emotions

In particular, the kinds of issues I work with include:

  • Premature and difficult birth experiences
  • Adoptions
  • Sibling rivalries
  • Temper tantrums and power struggles
  • Fearfulness and anxiety
  • Illness and death in family or extended family
  • Separation and divorce
  • Traumatic events such as accidents or hospitalization
  • School-related problems
  • Friendship difficulties

Work with Adults

My desire is to attune as accurately as possible to my client's rhythms and pacing so that together we build a therapeutic relationship that allows us to tackle the painful or difficult areas as well as strengthen and support the client's resourcefulness and capacity.

I work with men and women on a wide range of issues:

  • Strenthening body awareness and body resources such as: grounding, centering and boundaries
  • Anxiety, fearfulness and depression
  • Loss and death
  • Resolving traumatic events
  • Family of origin work
  • Relationship difficulties
