Work with Families My work with families rests in my desire to help parents and children come into a deeper, more satisfying relationship with themselves and each other. By looking at what is working well for the family and what isn't, I can help: - Parents acknowledge and manage their own fears and anxieties so they are more able to "tune into" their child's needs
- Strengthen the attachment and deepen the bond between the parents and their child
- Parents support their child's ability to deal with stress and regulate their emotions
In particular, the kinds of issues I work with include:- Premature and difficult birth experiences
- Adoptions
- Sibling rivalries
- Temper tantrums and power struggles
- Fearfulness and anxiety
- Illness and death in family or extended family
- Separation and divorce
- Traumatic events such as accidents or hospitalization
- School-related problems
- Friendship difficulties
Work with Adults My desire is to attune as accurately as possible to my client's rhythms and pacing so that together we build a therapeutic relationship that allows us to tackle the painful or difficult areas as well as strengthen and support the client's resourcefulness and capacity.
I work with men and women on a wide range of issues: - Strenthening body awareness and body resources such as: grounding, centering and boundaries
- Anxiety, fearfulness and depression
- Loss and death
- Resolving traumatic events
- Family of origin work
- Relationship difficulties
