![]() Dr. Lipinski has almost 28 years of experience as a licenced Psychologist. Originally from Edmonton, he has recently moved to Vancouver. In Edmonton, he was in private practice for 23 years.
Special Interests In addition to helping people with the problems of everyday living (decsion making, communication, parenting, relationships, grief, co-dependence, assertiveness) Dr. Lipinski has a special interest and considerable experience in helping people who suffer from problems with anxiety. This could be fears of specific things such as mice, spiders, weather, flying, dental or medical procedures, public speaking, and so on or generalized anxiety which is feeling nervous or anxious most of the time for no specific reason. This also includes treatment for anxiety or panic attacks. In Edmonton, Dr. Lipinski ran an 8 week, six person group program for over 20 years and hopes to establish this program in Vancouver by January, 2008. Anxiety problems also include difficulties with obsessive-compulsive thoughts and behaviours where people cannot seem to stop themselves from thinking certain thoughts (Did I lock the door?) or doing specific behaviours such as checking, arranging or things like excessive washing of hands. Anxiety problems can also be the result of emotional or physical trauma. This could include things like physical or sexual assault, accidents, medical procedures or witnessing a violent act.
