To become a Member with Referral Service, you must be registered in good standing with the College of Psychologists of BC as a Registered Psychologist (R.Psych.).

You must already be a registrant with the College at the time of joining BCPA.

  • You will be a registrant in good standing with the College of Psychologists of BC during the time you are registered as a BCPA Member;

  • You agree to review and adhere to the E-mail Forum guidelines.
  • If there are any limitations, terms or conditions to your registration to practice psychology, you agree to modify your practice accordingly, and apply these limitations to all referrals received through the BC Psychological Association;

In addition, Members with Referral Service are listed on BCPA’s Referral Service, which can be accessed for free by phone or web by members of the public who are looking for the services of a psychologist. The Referral Service is promoted annually during Psychology Month. All Members with Referral Service will also be able to create a profile page hosted on the BCPA website, and they are able to immediately update or correct their referral information online. For more information on how to set up your referral settings, please consult our Referral Service Guide [pdf].

BCPA membership does not follow the calendar year; instead, your membership goes from September 1st of one year to August 31st of the next one. For example, if you join BCPA as a Member with Referral Service on August 30, 2009, you will be a member of the Association from September 1, 2009 to August 31, 2010. If this sounds a little confusing, do not worry – we will mail out renewal forms and information well in advance of the end of the membership year, and you will be reminded of all deadlines at that time.

The easiest way to renew is, of course, through your online dashboard, which you can access after logging in by going under myBCPA.

To become a Member with Referral Service, please fill in this form. If you are already a Member, but your membership has lapsed, please log in, and renew your membership by following the appropriate link on your membership dashboard.
